Scope

This policy applies to all students who are enrolled with Topscore Education Centre (TEC) who may be seeking refund of paid tuition fees. This policy also applies to parents or TEC staff involving in the tuition refund process.

Policy

For individual lessons:

  • When students do not attend their scheduled lessons without notice to TEC, there is no refund for lesson tuition paid. Re-scheduling of lessons is possible but tuition paid for lesson(s) missed is not refundable or transferable.
  • When students/ parents contact TEC for cancelling or re-scheduling of their pre-scheduled lessons, full refund of the money paid for that lesson minus a $10 administration fee can be made to the parents or lessons can be re-scheduled, only when they contact TEC 24 hours prior to commencement of their earliest lesson.

For group lessons

(Please note: Group lessons are an effective plan for quality tutoring at great rate. However, we cannot reschedule groups to make up lessons for individual students.)

  • When students/ parents contact TEC for cancelling of their pre-scheduled lessons, 50% refund of money paid for that lesson minus a $10 administration fee can be made to the parents or lessons may be re-scheduled, only when they contact TEC 24 hours prior to commencement of their earliest lesson.

Exceptions (Subject to approval of the TEC):

  • If an individual lesson is cancelled due to absence of the teacher, the student has the option to transfer to another class, or seek full refund of tuition fees paid.
  • If a group lesson is cancelled due to lack of enrolment, students have the option to transfer to another class, or all tuition fees will automatically be deferred without penalty to the next session.

Procedures

  • TEC gives no refunds except in documented, extenuating circumstances.
  • All refunds must be jointly approved by the program administrator and the TEC Director.
  • When a refund is granted, if payment was made by cash or check, refunds are processed through the Centre’s Accounts Payable Department. Note that the reimbursement process can take from 14 days.
  • Credit card refunds are processed directly by TEC via credit back to the original card that was used for payment.
  • In the unlikely circumstance, lessons cancelled by TEC will be refunded in full.
  • This information is correct as at November 2015. Topscore Education Centre has the right to review and change its refund policy at any time.
